The latest in target technology is ready

    Hey guys,

We've got the latest video up on our magnetic target system. I was here a month or so ago to debut it and you all had lots of feedback. We're now finishing beta testing and the performance has been amazing. Just wanted to share.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Still haven't seen their use for anything but .22's. I see what .45's and +p pistol caliber rounds can do to mild steel and even AR 500 steel after a while. These look awful small and will be destroyed if the face plate fails. How are these a significant improvement over a steel spring loaded plate or popper?

i like the shoot no shoot light setup.
as i do not have time, access or weekends to bend over and pay for any of the shooting game sports.
so this would help a bit in learning when to and not to shoot. working on aim a bit.

          but at what co$t?

          .

it looks like the ones in the video shows only the 22lr version of the face plate.

they sell a 45 version (as per their indiegogo page)

i know with new tech it is expensive, but man, $600 for just two targets (rated for up to only 9mm version) and you still have to buy the base station/repeater at $150

so to get this thing running with just two targets, is $750...

Hey Scratch, good eye. We didn't feature the 40 or 45 in the videos because that testing was done on a previous model target chassis and we didn't want to showcase a different model than what will be shipped. The entire chassis is steel with many components AR500. The .40 and .45 doesn't hit as hard as you might expect with a 1/4" thick 6 inch paddle, and we do most of our testing at 15 yards. We have a few chassis's that are just passing 8000 hits to the paddle and they're still going strong.

We've put a lot of focus on price, and this is where we landed. The one point I want to mention is that we can't get away with consumer grade components. Even prosumer grade components will fall apart in this environment. This target and the components have to be designed for military/industrial use in order to ensure longevity. We've even priced it to reflect our discounts at a decent level of volume. We hope that the features we're packing in make it worthwhile. Features like user created training drills, game modes with co-op and versus, and double-tap.

Btw, you can get a complete 2 pack plus base station bundle for $650 right now! Appreciate for your thoughts Scratch!!

Good stuff, as time goes on you will be able to get the cost down as well.

Can I suggest a design change,
Have the light on a small motor BEHIND the armor plate. On a hit the light turns on and swings out fast then back in again. Now you dont have to worry about shooting exposed lens and such. Have the light mounted on a inexpensive arm that can easily be changed by the user if the arm gets shot by trigger happy users just spraying bullets at the target.

Love the idea! We're actually headed in a direction that will reduce our current $12 replacement shield down to $3-4. This I think will be so cheap it should reduce all concern about misplaced shots. We're still about 4 months away from offering it, but it will be a drop in replacement.

A couple of free democrat election roadside signs and a shoot-n-c and I'm good to go. $750 saved, democrats destroyed.

                          Hi Mark,

I totally understand the need for industrial grade electronics/components to survive the rigors of being shot at for thousands of rounds.

i'll just have to start saving up the change in my pockets to afford it once you guys roll it out for regular retail sales.
