Fixed mag and rifle jam question.

Ok so we all know the options for fixing your mag whether it be a mag lock or new special type of top loading magazine thing.

But what happens if you are shooting and your gun jams. Say you had a double feed and the rounds get really jammed in there to the point that they are strongly stuck in place causing the bolt to stay halfway into the buffer tube.

Ok so the way I see it is you have a few options since you can't remove the mag to clear the jam and to avoid chambering a new round once you do clear the jam. The reason you can't is because you can't seperate he upper and the lower when the bolt is stuck half way into the buffer tube:

1. Hold the bolt back and try to stick something (hopefully not your finger) into the ejection port to clear the jam while keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction (which is extremely dangerous since your dealing with live loads. And will result in rechambering a new round once you clear the jam and getting the bolt to go forward.)

2. Remove the barrel, which hopefully u have the barrel nut tool at the range with you otherwise your driving home with a loaded rifle in your vehicle. Or trying to remove the barrel with live rounds in the upper while keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

3. Or i don't know

What would you do if for some reason your bcg is stuck in the rearward position and you can't open your upper and lower and have a full mag that you can't remove?

Hold the charging handle to the rear. Push one round back into the mag, clear the other round. Let the charging handle go.

Or, hold the charging handle to the rear, clear the jammed round and chambered round, let the charging go forward.

Or, hold the charging handle back, clear the round from the magazine, ride the handle back and keep it from stripping a round from the mag.

I would lock the charging handle back to clear the rounds.
depending on the situation, I may also remove the floorplate of the mag to drop the ammo out.

another example of how ineffective one of these BB / fixed mag rifles would be in a self defense situation, it's better to use non bullet button for any type of defense, your not going to have the time to clear the jam.

a featureless rifle like a Ruger Mini 14 would be a lot more reliable.
