How to register AR pistol next year....???

If all the new gun laws are effective 1/1/17 and 7/1/17 next year...I understand if you're going to comply, you would need to register all your AR15 rifles as AW ON LINE...$20 per rifle.

One of the new law talks about unregistered/unserialized/home built guns. New law says you'd need to obtain serial numbers from DOJ if you currently don't have a serial number or a special mark on the gun...then register.

My question is...only way for you to build an AR pistol was by building it with an 80% lower. For those who have an at pistol that was built with an 80% lower, how can you obtain a serial number from DOJ AND Register it since CA does not allow any pistol AR to be registered any longer...unless it was previously registered as a pistol lower before the ban?

You can go to Gunfighter tactical they produce ar pistol lowers. You have to buy a complete gun but they will piece together whatever you want.

Good option if you want to be legal and don't want to go through hassle of obtaining serial numbers and getting gun engraved.

They are also just a great shop in general.

Can you engrave your own markings before Jan 1st 2017 and then register?

Hopefully the ARMagLock gets approved so registering of "AW" is not necessary.

Lots of things unknown until the regulations are published; try to be patient until 2017 sometime - there's no schedule or required date.
