Turners forgot to file my DROS

Wtf.....eager to bring home my newest additions, I decided to pick up my guns on the earliest available day(today Tuesday). It wasn't bad enough that I sat in traffic for a good hour coming from La Puente,ca......more so I had to wait for all other consumers to get theirs. I figured it would be a while since I made the purchase during the lake forest grand opening, and everyone might do the same. Well finally I get called after a good hour, paper work for another 20min only to find out, they filled my dros a day late. Am I tripping? Manager says, "sorry, we tried calling you." Apparently I wasn't the only one, whatever f that. Why is it that people who had been at least 15 places behind me the day of, get theirs. I've heard of people talking bad about turners, I didn't think I would.

Lesson learned: NEVER leave the store without a copy of the DROS that has the earliest and latest pickup time stamps provided by the DOJ computer printed at the top of the page. Then you KNOW it was filed and what the earliest pickup time is, down to the second.

Also, perhaps speak with manager and possibly ask for some sort of compensation for their mess up. Nothing you did wrong here (other than what SkyHawk mentioned...) as far as I can see... It's on them at this point for your inconvenience-

Would be good business for them to perhaps toss you some ammo or something for your troubles. Jmho

So did you not give them your actual phone number? Or did they not actually call....or did you not pick up.

Turners hand writes the earliest pick up date and last pick up date on their invoice they give you. That leaves room for human error.

Ammo Bros hands you a copy of the DROS and the pick up date is at the very top which I prefer.

So you got a copy of the invoice with the earliest pick up time but no DROS?

Why couldn't they do the DROS the same day? If you're picking up Saturday, you must have signed and thumb printed the DROS? Unless I'm missing something....?

Did you buy the gun on Saturday July 30, or last Wednesday?

You don't sign and thumbprint until the day of pickup. At least that's how it's worked for me each and every time.

I'm assuming dros gets processed soon after paying the day purchased, if so they didn't complete mine on the day of purchase 7/29(turners). The manager said that they didn't file mine till the following day (7-30). I'll have to check tonight for stamps, they hand wrote the earliest day, both on my dros and my wifes, which both were done separately by different turners associates.

                            Yes^^^^

Always insist on a copy of the DROS even though it's not completed.

Most FFLs do the computer work at the same time so when you are done
Paying and walk out of the Store, you're already in the DROS system.

The OP was a victim of incompetence, in a New Turners with an under-achiever as "Manager'. The BS story about how. They "Called" is just that. BS.

Asking for and receiving a Copy of the new DROS paper, gives you CLARITY
                            In 2 ways,

                            1. It proves you're in the System and not on the back burner for some idiot to
Do your DROS the next day and fake a phone call to you.

                            2. It CLEARLY shows the Legal Date for pick up.
Under: Earliest Date for Pickup. Which is exactly 240 hours from filing the DROS.

Unfortunate experience with Turner's and the DROS.
I have purchased several firearms from Turner's and they have always been very professional and complete in the transactions.
Probably the stress of the sale and maybe new employees.
