Around here it takes some pretty serious name-calling / insults to get banned.

No it doesn't. All you have to do is disagree in a persistent and aggressive manner with any of the racist homophobes around here and you will get banned. Posting blatantly pro-gun control comments will get you banned even more quickly. All based on the prohibition against stirring the ****. It has happened many times, mostly to n00bs.

I got banned from OT for posting Matthew 10:35-37.

Except for SFArchitect's support of background checks, I have not seen any of those guys posting pro-gun control comments.

They have assumed a more left-leaning position on a variety of political issues. I know this is hard for some people to get their heads around, but that does not make them pro-gun control.

I also disagree with this. CG is the most sensitive site I've ever been to.

There was a poster that argued that Sig Sauer was not a major brand. I said that if he believed that, he was an "idiot." He went and whined to a mod about what I said and got me banned. One day I hope to see him at a CG event so I can talk to him about what happened in person.

That may be. Democratic Underground actually has a gun forum (since lots of Democrats do support gun rights). The pig-fighting there is epic, and also pretty lame. But if you happen to say anything critical of the leader of the Democratic party (who is the President if the President is a Democrat) it's an instant ban. Ideological purity above all.

I am sort of curious about what's going on at DU this year, and if you get banned for mentioning the DNC e-mail leaks.

LOL... My experience doesnt mimic yours...I am sure a "paying" member has more freedom here then a non-paying member. I have no issue with it...just want to make it clear, some are more equal than others.

I have been harassed on this website many times...and when I fight back...I get the ban hammer.

So my experience is, Jews who accept that their religion is false and accept Jesus as the Lord are tolerated as long as they pay the admin or dont stick up for themselves...

That's usually the case on most forums - your comments can't stray too far from the thinking of the admins on that forum.

I've gone on to forums and had the admins permanently shut down entire topics altogether. It doesn't take much.

Go to a Christian site and start comparing God to the Devil and how the Devil is less of a murderer based on the Bible. BAN!

Go to a "pro-life" site and start talking about pro-choice and the reality that they are more pro-birth than pro-life and BAN!

Go to a Satanic site and start talking about God and the opposite of their beliefs. BAN!

I've been banned without ever calling anyone any names. Just on concepts alone.

In my experience, YMMV, it takes longer to get banned on a liberal site than a conservative one.
