She's only been shooting for 5 years. Pretty cool scoring they have. Unlike NRA scoring where a dead center 10 and one that barely touches the 10 both score the same, they use a computerized system that awards scores down to the 1/10 of a point depending on how close the shot is to the center.

Bullseye on the air rifle target is only 0.5mm. Local favorite Kim Rhode goes for her 6th medal on Friday. She has medaled in every Olympics since 1996. Lots of firsts for her. http://stream.nbcolympics.com/womens...ir-rifle-final

So, what a dilemma for the anti's: celebrate an American teenager's gold medal, or complain about firearms, and why they are bad.

Congrats to a very talented young lady.

Oh, and just curious - are these featureless rifles?

I saw her interviewed today wearing her gold medal and she said that she has one more event, a small bore competition then she's flying back home and then off to West Virginia University for classes as a sophomore. Fine young lady.

Hope she brought extra ammo to shoot the zika skeeters!

10m? I didn't know they shot at such short range. Wouldn't it be fairly easy to put every pellet in the same hole?

With the electronic scoring even a tiny fraction of an inch loses you some points. Ginny averaged a 10.4 in the final round with only one perfect 10.9 shot. I don't think anybody else fired a 10.9 in the finals.

That being said there's a HUGE mental component to the sport. They use an elimination system and when you know you might get a medal it's super rough to stay focused.

The same liberal idiots that would laugh and make fun, saying crap like, "lol, an American can't even beat the Chinese out for shooting a rifle! Maybe guns should be banned because Americans suck with it!", If she were to end up with anything less than gold.

Air guns only. No firearms for them nor you.
