Just bought one of these, a Camper .22/20gauge (even has the cartridge trap in the butt!) and I am considering a scope, BUT . . .
The gun is marked with a warning to remove the scope when firing the shotgun barrel.
Is it because of the tip-off mount? If I used a Weaver rail adapter and really torqued it on would it be OK? Is it just because of the typical cheapo ".22 scope"?
Another idea is to find a machinist that I trust (long story) to make a clamp that fits over the .22 barrel and has a Weaver rail on top, but that is likely to cost some coin, one of those "if I make you one, it will be $1500, 3,000 or more they'll be a buck each" kind of deals.
