Ruger Mini14 vs AR with Bullet button 2 in a fire fight?

If you were in fire fight at close combat ranges under 100 yards against multiple bad guys, would you have a better chance on surviving the fire fight using a plain Jane Mini 14 with iron sites, preban 30 rd factory mag or a AR with flash hider, collapsible stock, pistol grip, rails, optical site, tactical sling, and the bullet button II, and 10 rd mags?

in close range fire fight, i think the guy with the Ruger might win?

but in a longer range more tactical fight with cover, a guy with a bullet button AR would have the advantage because of the better accuracy, but his slower reloads would be a burden.

This goes to show, a rifle doesnt have to look like something used by the SEAL TEAMS to be effective.

You only need one bullet, so whoever is the better shot wins

Tactical sling can be used to choke out the terrorists.

AR has the advantage all the way around. That's why they want to ban them. The Mini is only good for coyotes to 300yds.

but this would be going against a group of bad guys armed with preban mags and Ruger Mini 14's

so close your position could be over run or they might try to rush you as you lay in your sniper hole / fox hole

also both your enemy and yourself are well trained the bad guys being former Russian Spetsnaz commnados

they could wait until they hear you shoot 10 rds and have enough time to over run your position

As they are rushing in you set of the Claymore's, and pick up your other AR, and keep in the fight. Everyone has more than one right?

the use of claymores wouldnt be possible, this would be in a civillian setting and only locally available ammo, rifles would be available

unless you had some type of home made improvised claymore? to protect your home / bunker?

I guess you could also place concertina barbed wire around your area to slow them down and keep them from over running you?

The one who garnishes the first hit most likely will win. I would put my focus on the skill and training of the shooter rather than the weapon. Yet, it is more fun to compare guns and have the piece of mind that the gun you pick will save the day.

A good quote "He who exerts the most effective energy first, wins!" How you get there is all up to you. Not so sure the weapon choice is the deciding choice, but can be helpful. Yet, your comparing weapons that are in the same general category which probably don't make much difference. If the weapon choice is a 30-06 vs a 22lr, the advantage is much greater on the firepower (energy equation) a 5.56 vs 5.56 appears the same to me.

Well those are pretty silly rules for when your being attacked by former Russian Spetsnaz commando's.

Pre ban or not, the new law doesn't provide for grandfathered mags over ten rounds.

The only adantage the Mini has is that you won't have to break open the action to reload.

In this case, the featureless Mini gets the nod.

since a featureless still retains quick change magazine capabilty [no bullet button required]

this would make your gun just as effective as the guy with a Ruger Mini14?

except he would have the advantage of the preban 30 round factory mags

so going featureless might look kind of funny, it would probably work better in a firefight than a RAW with the type 2 bullet button?

What makes you think there are not pre-ban ar mags?

30 round mag vs 10 round mag? do you really want to discuss this?

I guess this is the day of dumb threads.

First, why would someone even have a bb2 gun in a firefight. Most everyone will use a RAW or a featurless

Second, there is no such thing a preban 30 round Mini-14 mags. They only made 20s, and I'm pretty sure there were no 30 round aftermarket mags preban.

Even a RAW AR against an Mini would be close.

It all depends on training not the rifle.

                              Dumb thread.

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.
