    DROS, PPT, New gun..???

hey everyone, I'm a new shooter, used to be afraid of guns but my father-in-law took me out Jan 1st and I'm addicted now!

my question is, I'm going to purchase a handgun from someone off here but i also see a handgun i want thats on sale at turners, can i buy both in the same month and just wait to DROS the second one? or can i DROS both of them when i get them?

If it is done outside the city of LA.

OP, you can buy a hundred+ PPT handguns every day, and also one from dealer inventory every 30 days as long as you don't DROS in LA.

Also, I would be as sure as you can possibly be, that you will pass DROS before you buy from a private party. If you are denied, it is not on the seller to fix your problem. You could be left with no money and no gun, or a sizeable 'hassle' fee. As a private seller, if you buy from me and don't pass DROS, you have a problem that you have just drug me into: I'm not going to be happy and I don't have time to go back to the FFL and bail you out.

I'm 100% sure I'd pass my DROS. I bought my first hand gun about 3 months ago and my first shotgun last month and I had no problems with any paperwork

You can DROS both at the same time. You only pay for one DROS fee or $25, but may need to pay $10 dealer fee for each gun or just for the second gun.

For instance, Guns Direct will charge you $35 for that transaction - $25 for the DROS, no dealer fee on the brand new gun you bought from them and $10 dealer fee for the second gun. Most shops do it this way. Since you are doing it at Turner's, call them first.

Very well explained and that is what an honest and decent FFL would do. I did the exact same thing at Guns Direct a couple of months ago.

That said, Turners does not exactly fall under the above category. Make sure you call them a head of time and talk to the store manager confirming the way they do it at that particular location, because turners stores do not have a consistent practice in all locations.

There was a place that was trying to charge me 100 recently so i went somewhere else. I've heard of places actually charging you 100 dollar storage fee of you didn't pick it up right on the 10th day. Crazy
I did not mention a transaction fee.
