President Bush commutes the sentences of  Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, convicted of shooting a Mexican drug runner in 2005.

It's only about three years too late.

I'm just waiting to see all the hippies complain about pardoning them. but it is good to see Bush going out on good terms.

He didn't pardon them. He reduced their sentences. They should never have been punished for anything other than poor marksmanship. And the prosecutor should be in jail for abusing his position to railroad two BP agents who were only doing their job. Well, that and prosecutorial misconduct for his suppressing the information on the key witness's criminal behavior from the jury. Oh well, let's hope they keep fighting this. And at least they are going to get out of jail.

Yeah, that's a weak "pardon"...catering to the illegal immigrant vote until the end.

                  I agree.
That whole case is simply insane.
The pro-illegal immigration forces out there in the hidden upper echelons of political influence had Ramos and Compean crucified in order to scare Border Patrol agents out of doing their job.
