    Anyone at Chabot today..? Rant/Observation

A bit of a rant/observation....I Went to Chabot today, it was pretty packed at about 1pm as I expected, my friend and I set our stuff up by the tables and wait for some people to leave, no biggie. I noticed a table with boxes on it, a rifle, but nobody shooting. I figured it belonged to the group I was waiting on as they were on both benches on either side shooting.

However after they left the table with the boxes was still untouched. I took the table next to it, and my buddy and I just used 1 table and took turns shooting. After about 10mins I see the owner of the rifle come up with a bag in his hand, he's been out collecting brass the entire time. Normally I could care-less, but there were people waiting for lanes and this guy just had his stuff setup, but spent the entire time collecting brass. I was there from 1 untill the last ceasefire (about 4:30 ); and the entire time he DID NOT shoot a single round, all he did was walk around with a bag collecting brass. He walked up right before the last firing period, started packing up all his stuff and then left.

Is this something that is common? Someone takes up a lane, does not shoot for 4.5hrs, just walks around collecting brass? Seems kinda of rude to me, since there were shooters waiting for benches. Eh /rant off

On the plus side, I did see about 8-10 lanes with EBR's in them. Nice to see that more & more people are owners of EBR's and out actively shooting them.

I've never seen that myself, but it's obviously rude for him to take up a bench for that long and not shoot, and double rude to pick up other folks brass (unless he had asked).

On a related note, what's with people who shoot at indoor ranges with assigned lanes switching lanes and such? I can't tell you how many times I've walked up to "lane 4" just to find someone already shooting there.

I was there but didn't see the brass guy. I did leave about 2:30. It does state You can pick up your brass only. I would told the RO and straighten out the OP. It was a great day to shoot. A fellow Calgunner showed up (Mel) and we had a good time.

Were you on the public range? myself and another CGer had EBRs
It was sure packed when i got there 1245ish

I was there with my wife cousin and met a friend too. what lane were you in?
I saw a few who were possibly cg'ers.

There was this "dad, friends and son" combo and they already had a lane, then took over 2 more lanes while we were still waiting to get 1.

Luckily we finally got a lane around 130 or so.
I guess I was too busy shooting and showing the wife how to shoot for the first time to notice a guy picking up brass.
We had a blast though, Couldnt believe my wifes shooting! This is with it almost zeroed at 50 yrds

Heres mine, but the lower left shots were coming from my friend another CG'er he was shooting my target on accident! he let me use one of his peel n sticks and thought that was his target haha

Livermore Rod and Gun has signage that states you can ONLY collect the brass YOU shoot. I think it's a great rule..
