Did a search, didn't see a specific thread on this topic.

How do they work?

If I buy a gun there, doesn't it still have to be transferred to my local FFL for pick up after the 10 day wait, with an additional fee?

I'm thinking finding guns & options that are not readily available locally would make this venue attractive.

No cash & carry must goto ffl . And not delivered by you. Find firerm then find ffl at gun show to take possession and ship or to do dros and you pickup in 10 days at h the ffls place of business.

Then you could go into the show and buy any gun you want without background checks, registration or even any cash. They just hand out full auto ARs and AKs and they come with heat seeking bullets.

You're better off just visiting the local gun shops in your area. Gun shows are lame and they have the nerve to charge an entry fee.

Usually at a gun show there are several of the larger local FFL dealers there.
(In So Cal this might be Rifle Gear, Turner's, etc).

You find a gun for sale from either a private party or maybe a non-local FFL.
Both you and the seller go to the closest FFL near you to do the PPT / DROS.

So, if you are in a gun buying mood, early in the show day's activities is figuring out what FFLs are there at the show that are close to you.

I have to disagree with some of the people responding, I like gun shows. It may be a so cal/no cal issue. Crossroads of the West gunshow in Orange County may be the best in the state. This is where I go. I have always had a good time and usually find something interesting to buy. I walk past the beef jerkey vendors and look at the gun stuff. If I only spend the afternoon talking with other pro 2nd amendment California people, and window shopping, it is still worth the trip.
