I went up to Los Altos Rod and Gun yesterday afternoon to put my first rounds though my new toy. I got one of the last DDM4V11Pro's that Reeds had. I'd put my money down and put it in jail before I got laid off and very briefly considered canceling the deal and eating the restocking fee. But I quickly decided no on that! But, due to looking for more work, I hadn't had the time to get to the range. I spent awhile at 25 yards, dialing it in and then switch to 50 yards. No optics yet, just Troy folding iron sights, the diamond shape with the Tritium. I hadn't shot an AR since my army days roughly 45 years ago and I was somewhat worried about my ability to use iron sights. I think I did pretty decently considering I'm an old fart and my eyes aren't what they used to be. I did use my Atlas bipod, though, to help steady things.
So, I'm wondering if I really did as well as I think I might have. Below are two pix, one of my best group at 25 yards, and one of my best group at 50 yards. Keep in mind I'm using iron sights and I'm an old geezer who wears glasses that have transition lenses.
Any and all comments appreciated.
