    FFL in Stockton

A buddy who is new to guns is looking to purchase a Moss 500 shotgun. This will be his first gun so I want to send him to a place who knows what they are talking about and wont try to upsell him. Not sure his exact address but he is in Stockton. Any suggestions on where I should send him? Thanks

My go to would be Tracy Rifle and Pistol, good folks there. If he isn't interested in the drive to Tracy, I've heard good things about KW Defense in Stockton, I haven't been out there but have a couple friends who say it's good to go.

Big 5 in Lodi Kettleman road. Cheapest and best way to get a 500 or 870.

Dont bother with other mom and pop stores.

Stockton has Stockton Gun Exchange on Pacific, and Outdoor Sportsman on West ln south of March.
That's pretty much it. I have done a PPT at Big 5 and avoid firearms transactions there at all costs. That company has additional corporate paperwork ON TOP of all the stuff you have to do for the Feds and the state.

Stockton GunEx is the best for a PPT since they are never crowded.

I would recommend Outdoor Sportsman for a first time purchase. They have a fairly large inventory and fair pricing, employees are courteous and not idiots or fuds.

I've done multiple transactions at KW Defense (located at the intersection of Hammer Ln & West Ln) and have no complaints. I actually prefer them over TRP, not just because they're closer, but because the staff are friendlier.

I would suggest that he drive to Barnwood Arms in Ripon.

Almost forgot about KW. They are professional and a good location, almost no inventory though.

I live in Stockton and my go to LGS is Elite Firearms in Manteca. They are very professional and friendly.

I know many people vouch for TRP. I tried them a few years ago and I was not impressed. I made the drive 3 times to buy a specific gun and had cash in hand. Once their web site said they just received several in a shipment and once I called ahead and was told they just received a shipment and they had them. Both times I arrived within 30 minutes and found out the information was wrong.

I was willing to order the gun and pay for it up front both times and they told me to just come back in a week and check again.

As I left the shop another disappointed customer told me about Elite Firearms. I went there. They did not have the gun I wanted in stock. They took my order and two days later called me to tell me it was in and I was there within 30 minutes to DROS it. I have purchased every one of my guns from them since. They sold me a few I did not know I wanted until I walked into the store just to browse.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

Outdoor Sportsman off West Ln & March. They have a good selection, especially their used section. Picked up my Mossberg 500 there for dirt cheap. Guys behind the counter were very nice too. I agree with what someone said though, if you can't find a used Mossberg 500, you're better off going to Big5 for the combo version.

Stockton Gun Exchange. Easy folks to deal with.

Had good gun buying experiences at all the shops listed but buying a firearm at Stockton Gun is better. Funky old shop with friendly workers.

Outdoor sportsman's on west lane, that's my go to and the majority of my guns were bought there, ask for Oscar, older gentleman.

As far as Tracy rifle and pistol, stay away from there, they don't know how to order a gun and keep track of it even when you paid half upfront and they lied saying that its been ordered up until they realized they were incompetent and never ordered it in the first place, only admitting it when there was only a few days before sse would end. True story.
