Charging handle and polymer lowers

I have an issue with two builds. One AR10 and one AR15. Both have polymer lowers. Both have the same issue. I cannot completely close the upper onto the lower because the bottom of the charging handle hits the top of the lower above where the buffer tube assembly goes. If I could just close it another hair, it would be OK. The 10 is a Warrhogg and the 15 is EP. The Warrhogg is using a Palmetto upper and the 15 is using an Anderson.
I do have an AR15 build using a Polymer80 lower that works perfectly with the same upper.
Should I just file off that 1/2 mm?

Sure, unless you know another way. Maybe different handle or clearance it a little. Maybe half and half.

Use a Rattail file and proceed slowly. Good luck!!!
