    Sacramento Area AR Pro Needed

Looking for someone in the Sac area to look over the two ARs I just built. They're my first 80s and I'd like to have someone that is more knowledgeable than me look them over and let me know if they were done correctly. They both pass a basic function test but I'd like to know for sure. Let me know.

There isn't much to them. If they passed a basic function test, it should be GTG.
What did you do for a "basic" function test?
How much of the rifle did you build (just the lower or the upper also)?

If ya want, I'll be at Yolo tomorrow morning (~9:00) if you can't find anybody or would like me to take a look.

Btw: Shooting will tell ya alot more than just a visual.

Just go shoot them, if they go bang you're good. If they go boom, well.....
I built my first 2 over the last few months and I didn't know **** about ar's. They both function flawlessly.

Going to Sac Valley tomorrow morning, I'll give them a second set of eyes if you want, not much to it.
      **** your feelings!

Unfortunately I work weekends so my schedule kind of sucks in that respect. As to functioning, I tend to agree with you. Only thing I've noticed is it kind of seems like one drops the hammer a little slow so I'm worried about light strikes. I don't have a mix so I can't really check tolerances. I don't know, guess I'm just being overly critical of my work. Worse case scenario maybe I just sand down the walls where the hammer rides.

Have you checked to be sure your hammer springs ar placed correctly around the hammer??

This. Double check the assembly of lower parts. Test fire one round at a time and make sure everything works like it should. Bolt locks to rear, etc. After a couple rounds bump it up to three rounds. You should be fine after that.

I've built plenty of ARs, just no 80s, so I doubt I screwed that part up, but it's definitely worth double checking.

Then why ask? You should know what your doing.
If you cut your 80 wrong, it should not effect the force of your hammer unless the hammer is binding on the walls of your 80. Maybe your fcg is offset. An off set trigger group can be fixed with a set of KNS anti walk pins.

I build my ARs from 80s there is not much you can screw up unless your router does not cut straight.....even then, they tend to work.

@CM I'm asking because these are my first 80s so I didn't know if tolerances or something else I could have screwed up could have caused a problem. Just trying to be safe since I'm a newcomer in that territory.
