    Disposal Of Live Ammo

I bought some .223 ammo at a gun show and they are jamming my guns. They came in stripper and 20 to a box.

I tried them on both of my CA AR15 and a HK630 (which can shot anything), the ammo fail to feed and eject. A follow shooter also tried them on a bolt action gun and it fail to feed as well.

I still have about 100 rounds left.

Thus, I was wondering if there's a safe way of Disposal of live ammo. I don't want to throw them in the garbage.

You can throw em in my garbage

I'd decap them and reload with the projos/brass.

ask the range master at your local range. they're used to having to deal with live ammo disposal...

Where are you located? I will take them off of your hands (for reloading purposes). I know the above guy asked first though

This doesn't help the thread poster, but one time a former co-worker asked me to come to his house after work saying it was "gun-related". So, I did.

He was moving from CA to GA and gave me 2000 rounds of UMC .223 Rem. and thousands more of .22LR bricks, all still in box. Told me the moving company's policy would not allow that type of cargo on their trucks, and he couldn't bear to just drop off the ammo at a police station when another gun owner could enjoy it. Who was I to argue that you can just mark the boxes, "brick collection"?

At the time I did not own a .223 Rem. or .22LR rifle and I owed a fellow gun euthusiast friend of mine some money. I went to his house and asked him if all these rounds would make us "sqaw", he replied that it did and happily shook on the deal and accepted the barter.

I'd pull the bullets for reuse, use the powder for fertilizer, detonate the primers in a bolt gun (chamber the primed brass, point in safe direction, pull trigger). Decap and reuse the brass.

Counties have a hazard waste disposal site.
They take ammo, paint, old oil, etc.

You can pull the bullets/power/casings and sell it on gunbroker/ebay.... unless its steel case... then make a belt out of the casings and sell it on ebay... some punk rockers will buy it.

Chances are, someone will have some sort of sloppy old gun which will shoot them just fine. Pass em on to some lucky list member!
