Walmart going to stop selling Ammo?

I was at my local Walmart looking at Ammo, and the two employees were talking about the upcoming background checks for ammo and that that they weren't going to sell ammo but I'm not if they meant themselves personally as employees or the store overall. Anyone else hear anything on this?

I'd be willing to bet some money they will.

Too early to speculate, since no one knows how said checks will be accomplished.

Don't give them any ideas. The legislative session is still open and there's time to "gut and ammend" more bills.

I mean they stopped/where told to stop selling guns in California. The average Walmart employee doesn't even want to open the ammo case let alone to whatever background check they're gonna require..

Some Wally Worlds already slide your CDL thru their machine when you buy ammo....

Their policy is to slide it or check it when you buy pistol ammo.

They do it for paint , smokes , alcohol , and anything that requires age verification. Not just ammo .

Last time I bought wine at Target the checkout dweeb grabbed my license out of my hand and scanned it before I could stop him. I loudly protested but it was too late. Next time I will maintain a firm grip.

I am sure the plan is to make it so difficult for the retailers to do business that they will stop selling ammo

then it is a de facto ban on ammo without them actually making a law doing so

Yeah, I would sure listen to Wal-Mart sales folks about the policies of the Wal-Mart store chain.

They are Wal-Mart sales associates for a reason and it is probably not because they didn't want to work at JPL.

Walmart stopped selling firearms on SoCal when it became too complicated for the sales people to correctly process the DROS.
Depends on how complicated it gets.

Doubtful. Why would they? They didn't stop selling sudafed. They are already linked up in the sporting goods section for fish and game permits.

Of all the retailers out there Wal Mart isn't dependent on ammo sales to stay open so any drop in demand likely won't kill their bottom line.
