Really quick question about plated bullets

Does anyone know if plated bullets generate noticeably more pressure than pure lead bullets?

I want to make some more pyrodex loads for my Hk usp 45.

Last time I used cast lead bullets with a 1/32 compressed charge and it worked fine....exact for the heavy leading of the barrel.

Was wondering if I could use the same load with plated bullets.

Why would you want to make pyrodex loads for a USP? just sounds like a really bag idea but I am curious.

First of all, this is awesome.

Secondly, on the website for xtreme plated bullets, they suggest using load data for lead rounds. I'd assume, given that, you could use lead and plated interchangably.

Of course, this is at your own risk.

Opposite. Lead bullets require less powder to generate the same velocity. So, I'd say for the same amount of powder lead bullets would generate more pressure than plated bullets.

Come on the correct answer is lead bullets create less friction.

Plated and jacketed create more friction so more pressure. That is why jacketed bullets need higher powder charges to equal lead bullet velocities.

Does anyone actually read the reload manuals?

Read this load chart. It seems that plated do have higher pressure. not by much though
