Can you remove Bullet Button after AW registration?

It's my understanding that after you registered your rifle as CA AW, you'll not need that BB any more.

    Am I correct?

I don't have any rifles with BB, but I'm considering buy one and register, if this is true.

That's what they are saying. The tradeoff isn't worth it, I'm doing one better and leaving this chit hole state, 20 Rd mags and suppressors here I come!

With out actually knowing the facts I'll say this . It seems every time there is a new law . There is a time frame in which you MUST comply . Any time after that you can no longer register/comply .

Assuming the the old AW law specified you must register your semi auto center fire rifle WITH detachable mag by such and such a date . That to me would seem to indicate you can't take the bullet button off because you did not register it by the date the previous law went into effect .

It would be like asking . If the Federal government past a law that all semi auto's were now AW and under NFA rules . Does that mean you can convert them to full auto . I just don't see either passing muster

It's late and I'm tiered , I know what I mean just not sure I wrote it correctly enough to make sense .

                  Thank you for your comment.

The text of new AW bill said any SA centerfire rifle without "fixed" magazine instead of "detachable" magazine.

Therefore, BB or not, it's not "fixed" magazine anyway. This new law sees BB is still non-fixed magazine. It'll be the same as detachable magazine without BB.

                  Am I right?

I was just in the middle of writing a rather long detailed response as to why you can't remove the BB . While writing I kept going back and reading the text to quote parts https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/f...201520160SB880

The more times I read it the more it seemed we will in fact be able to remove the BB if we register them as AW . The problem I see is the length of time before it takes effect . They will most certainly amend or write another law to be sure we can not remove the bullet button . To also include construtive possession .

I'm now very intrigued as to how this plays out .

See... this is what I'm contemplating as well.

Here's a link to CA definitions of Assault Weapons:
                      http:// https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/regagunfaqs#1

There are 3 categories of assault weapons. So I don't know if they're going to add a 4th category or redefine the 3rd. But as a RAW, you should be able to toss your BB. Because if not, then this is just a de facto gun registration.

As far as AW under NFA, I thought there was no law or literature that says you couldn't convert to full auto since they're all registered anyway. Or am I just revolving doubt?

However I think a simple "Yes" or "No" would be less typing than your 10 words sentence.

Or, even "Here's a link:___" would also be less than waisting your precious time typing your full sentence and giving no help.
op, i don't have a quick and easy answer to give, but there are many intense conversations that will help you assess it in other threads
