Another crock of an article making the rounds - have your counterpoints ready.

Whether you’ve been turned off by religion in the past or have a question about one of the world’s religions, check out what Patheos has to offer.

There's plenty of other BS spewed in between the points I picked out, but you get the picture. The whole claiming to be a gun owner with a CCW and an AR15 living in Texas is a new twist on the same old crap, but I'm seeing people share it on Facebook saying it's more credible because of that. I doubt the author's claimed background, but...who knows.

Anyway, have your counterpoints / debunking links ready. I expect to see this one pop up several more times over the next few days.

What a idiot, I would like to tell her about how it was living in the Rodney King riots of 1992, where the 911 response was "sorry police can't come, you're on your own." And that was for days. Only thing that saved the few of us was the firearms.

After all Mother Jones is a completely conservative, right wing kind of periodical. He said with sarcasm.

I detailed my proposal for gun legislation on Dogma Debate #211: Guns & Atheists. But here’s the gist of it:
        Treat guns like cars.
Mandatory licenses - I don't need a license to buy a car. You need one to drive on a public road. Oh, and you can get a license if you are a felon, a convicted domestic abuser, an illegal immigrant...basically anybody can get a license. To buy a car you need the following things: Money
License renewals - Again, not required to buy a car. Also not required to drive a car on private property
        Mandatory training - see above
        Mandatory insurance - see above
        Operating laws - see above
Operating age limits - see above
Restrict some models - this isn't actually done with cars
Require safety inspections = not required on cars
        Mandatory registration - not required
Background checks - you really think they do this for cars?

Occupy democrats and other liberal pages have a ton of memes about how Trump is the next Hitler. He's very close to being the next POTUS. And yet, they also have memes and such saying you don't need guns to defend yourself from the government, that'd never happen here, etc.
