Good! Nothing worse than a corrupt COP! There should be special legislation so corrupt COPS get double the time for the crime!

How much time will he actually serve though? Well at least he lost his gun rights. Nothing worse than a crooked cop or a cop abusing their power except a chomo.

There's not much early release in the Federal system. It's quite different from the California correctional system.

Most federal inmates serve about 85% of sentence time. Former Orange County Sheriff Michael Carona served 52 months of his 66 month sentence.

If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.

Oh yeah I forgot it is federal time. Maybe Obama will pardon him! I'm sure Tanaka's time served will not be representative of what most inmates face. Won't it be in a minimum security prison?

The federal sentence guidelines are pretty inflexible. Tanaka's actual time served will be consistent with any other inmate. The only real opportunity for deviation would be for a presidential commutation or pardon. Neither is very likely.

On the other hand, Tanaka will most certainly be going to a very minimal security facility. He just doesn't possess the risk factors that would call for more secure confinement. Please keep in mind that the security level of an inmate's housing facility is chosen by their level of risk. It is not a form of sanction.

True. But, they can send him anywhere BOP has a prison, so if they want to be penal, they could send him away to the boonies.
