I'm really struggling with what is the right thing to do here. My son is piecing together his first AR on a pretty tight budge, and as such, he's been scanning the marketplace quite a bit for pieces he wanted. He found a seller with a Daniel Defense lower parts kits for $100, which is what they cost online, but no one has them in stock. I contacted the seller, agreed on the cost and it arrived a few days later. The ad said the kit was new in package. But, we found the package had been opened and resealed with clear tape. Also, a couple of the parts listed on the packaging had been crossed out with a Sharpie marker.
We took a careful inventory and compared it to the parts and pictures on the Daniel Defense website and found that parts had been substituted in the kit. The Magpul trigger guard had been replaced with a stock painted unit and the complete trigger group had been replaced with another brand. It had a speed hammer in the package, not the DD one.
I contacted the seller and he told me that he had purchased 20 of these kits from another Calgunner and he would check into it. I asked that it be made correct by a complete kit, or sending the correct parts. If he was unable to, we would like our money back, as it was not what my son wanted, nor what was advertised.
It's been almost 4 weeks now, and all communication has dropped off. I've sent over a dozen private messages now to no avail. I know the Calgunner hasn't left the board, as his ad has been bumped during this time by himself. So, the big question, do I leave negative feedback? I'm guessing there is nothing further that can be done besides this.
