Today, I went to a LE range and had an opportunity to test fire the new Sig P250 in 9mm caliber. The dept is in a process of torture testing the pistol. When I received it today, the round count was about 16,000. The pistol was cleaned and oiled when received new, and never touched since as far as maintenance was concerned. The metal parts that rub against each other were showing a sign of wearing and roughing. The inside was very dirty and caked up with crud. But double action only trigger pull was very smooth and very controllable.
Nevertheless, I fired 500 rouds in about an hour using 15 magazines. I fired 300 rounds on a B27 target at 25 yards and 200 rounds on steel teagets at varying distances. Of 300 rounds on B-27 target, about 80% were in 10's and X's and the rest were in 9 ring, none were outside of the 9 ring. It was awesome to shoot the beat up gun and see the good results.
Obviously, the Sig did the research and did a good job putting together a good pistol. I guess I will definitely buy one when one is available.
Oh, by the way, I traded my full size M-1A with a SOCOM 1 rifle today. I already have 2 Match M-1A's so I guess the SOCOM will be a good complement to my other rifles. Oh, well. So, it continues.
