I'm moving to Texas. Moving companies won't ship it. Is it worth shipping it to myself or should I shoot it and sell some of it?

Shipping ammo when I move ?

Actually, I just found out that you can work out a deal with the driver of the moving company to take it. I sold a bunch of mine, and was wondering what to do with the rest when the packers came and asked what I was doing with it. I said that I didn't know, since they wouldn't take it. He told me to just talk to the driver when he showed up. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
I didn't need to sell any of it. My loss, especially since I miss calculated the cost of the .45 and sold it for about half price. Caught the mistake before the sale, but after the agreement was made, so I stuck to it.WARNING: This post will most likely contain statements that are offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense, and or maturity.

Why do you have to tell them what it is? Can't you just box it up with the rest of your stuff? The moving company won't look in your boxes will they?
Congratulations on your move, you're definitely headed for greener pastures! Unless of course you'll be living in Grand Prairie, in which case... good luck lol.

You can fit all your ammo in a minivan?
Baloney. How do you think ammo gets from where it is to where it's supposed to be?
When I moved a few months ago I sold a lot and transported a lot. I wouldn't tell the movers you have ammo or they'll steal it. I would try to distribute it as much as possible throughout your boxes and bins. Add 20 pounds to a cardboard box and they'll figure out what's in there, assuming it doesn't break through the box. 5 pounds may go unnoticed. It costs about $30 - $35 to ship a full .50 can, so decide if that's worth it. I had about 40 cans, so I didn't want to pay to ship that.Comment
