    Why preaching on gun control?

Looking at responses to the event that happened in Orlando over the weekend I noticed that instead of talking about how to deal with radical Islam people in the (mainstream) media talk about gun control. I get the concerns that these people have, but after this country is attacked by terrorists it concerns me that some of these people talk about stripping our rights to bear arms instead of preserving them in the wake of an attack. I always thought that the terrorists win when we loose our rights.

Am i the only one that thinks it is absurd to talk about stripping rights instead of talking about how to deal with threats to our nation? What are your guys thoughts?

Never let a crisis go to waste. Look at almost any news service and see how many anti gun stories they have. It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to further their agenda.

Emotions rather than logic/facts drive the agenda of the left. As long as something fits their agenda it will get play in the news and on the "OMG" circuit.

A "mass" shooting fits right in with their views of control. Especially one so controversial at this time in our political climate.

Sad for those whose lives were lost and their families.

Please don't get me wrong, the a-hole scumbag that committed this heinous crime should be vilified...but not the guns (or the rest of us law abiding citizens).
      Sorry, not sorry.

Your not alone. We are the majority and will need arms to protect ourselves from those who deny it all together!

I saw a caption yesterday. It says, "when Paris was attacked by terrorists, they dealt with terrorism, when America is attacked by terrorists, they try to take away the people's rights." Or something along that line..... i was thinking, damn, we've gotten lower than the Frenchies??

It's pretty simple why the left is making gun control the central narrative. Because they are terrified to admit that our so called leaders are absolutely powerless to prevent these incidents from occurring again. Ban what you can because the reality is that this will continue to escalate whether the weapon is a gun, IED, car bomb, fertilizer bomb, machete, poison or a briefcase dirty bomb.

Banning guns gives the sheeple the illusion that their "elected leaders" are "doing something" to make their lives safe. I predict that we will soon see an action from our Jihadi pests that will make Orlando look like what it is, merely a warm up. Imagine an action with a team of 6-8 well trained, methodical terrorists, taking over a large high school or elementary school in a suburban area. Seal the perimeter off with planted explosives, herd all of the kids and teachers into a central gym, there will be a replay of the 2004 Beslan School/Chechen extremists in Russia and it will dwarf Orlando and San Bernardino attacks.

We are at war with radical Islam on our home turf and until average Americans acknowledge that we are, and react and vote in real leaders, the slaughter will continue. They can ban all of the guns that they want, guns are not the cause of terrorism.

**Edit - the latest in the press this morning is that the Orlando shooter was gay, a regular at Pulse nightclub and that the ISIS alignment was merely a masculine diversion. Doesn't really matter, same end result, slightly different motivation as a self-loathing gay.

I read about the fact that witnesses and former coworkers said he was a regular at gay bars. I wonder when that will be plastered all over the news. Probably right after the story about unicorns crapping rainbow sherbet for leprechauns.

This happens because to truly look at the cause (radical islam, a supremacist ideology) brings into question some cherished assumptions the left has about tolerance, diversity, and cultural equivalence. The Moslems are a challenge to every one of these assumptions because the muzz' believe they are superior to everything and everyone else. Multiculturalism only works if everybody buys into it but when the #1 protected group doesn't, there's something wrong.

And the left will never ever admit they might be wrong.

it's always easier to blame guns than Islam.

its much more sesitive and politically correct to blame an inanimate object than a person of a group that may be offended

To be honest, they didn't really have any more rights to go after. Liberals will continue to go after your rights until you have no more left to give before they will go to the root of the problem.

Because they're regressive leftists who would willingly shred the Constitution in the name of multiculturalism and globalism. They hate individual freedom and want an all powerful government.
