    Russian military badges

Anyone have an idea what these badges represent?

I bought them at an auction Sunday at little johns. Some are Russian, some Romanian, a couple are Bulgarian. Not reproductions but authentic Cold War trinkets.

          Wings usually stands for aviation.
Blue and yellow colors represent airborne (blue and white is airborne infantry, black and white is naval infantry).
Some of those are WW 2 and post aviation and AAA regiments.....but I could be wrong. I'm sure there are some site's on this subject.

I have no idea what they stand for. But I know they have no value at all. If you want you can send them to me to get rid of. No charge...

            Very cool collection though!

I just wanted the red star to wear on my Russian fur cap I wear in the winter when shooting my red Russian AK.

The only Soviet are the two Orders of the Patriotic War in pic 4. Both of those are re-issues to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the end of WWII. There were about 5 million of the type you have (second class) issues at that time.

The Star in pic 2 is a Romanian hat piece I believe...

Pic 6 is Yugo.... The crest at the bottom of the piece is the same as found on Yugo M48 rifles.

A soviet red stars looks like this.

                  BUbba

Congratulations on all those Soviet medals you were awarded.
Glad you're on our side now.

                  Or,

Did you steal them from Hillary's locker - her secret awards from the "other side" ?

Finally, it is cruel of you to have Hilly's face on all your posts - are you trying to reduce the birth rate in America to zero ?

All very cool. Likely have to go beyond this site to figure them all out.

I believe pic 7 is a medal commemorating the "liberation" of Yugoslavia from the Nazis. Perhaps awarded to soldiers who participated in that campaign.

Not sure if being liberated by the Soviets is a good thing.

I've made some progress on a few of them. Like one poster said the order of the patriotic war is a re-issue in 1985. One is gold plated, the other just silver. The gold has worn off except under the but in back.

I've identified about 50% of them and will update the post Sunday. Tomorrow is a 1000 yard match at Pendleton.

If you paid more than $20 for this - you overpaid.

The picture 17 shows the pin they gave every elder who said they fought 1941-1945 soviet - german war.

pic 3 is a ww2 item judging by its construction, very nazi-esque with the bullion style threading.

                              Found this on the net.

On 29 November 1943, the Anti-Fascist Council of National Liberation of Yugoslavia established the foundations of post-war Yugoslavia as a federal republic, which was officially proclaimed on the same date in 1945. Republic Day.
