I've had one for about 6 months. You can mount it in anything you can put a screw into.

Overall I like it. The only thing is if you press the key sequence too fast, it won't work. The unlocking mechanism is also abominably loud.

I have this safe. It was a bear for me to drill into solid oak and mount it. I broke one of the screws doing so, but once it is installed, it works good. There's an LED light inside that illuminates the safe's contents nicely. It fits everything from a J-frame to a Government 1911.

Be careful with your placement next to the bed... I've mistakenly pressed one of the buttons while in the throws of passion and caused it to beep the loud error tone which caused the young lady I was with to think I was pulling out my gun in the middle of things. That was awkward.

It's a good safe. But always have fresh batteries on hand for it rapidly eats it up. Due to playing with it.

So I just use the keys it comes with. Also, don't try to contact customer service, they don't exist.

Costco is selling those for $99 I think. I just saw them in the store the other day.

[edit]. Sorry, I just checked. It's the Canon branded safe. But it looks exactly the same. It's up on the Costco website.

Cannon & Gunvault are the same company.....however gunvault products are made in china, while Cannon products are almost all made in Mexico...

you can pretty mount that were ever it fits , I have one on the back of my beds headboard. The headboard is thick enough so that the screws do not pass through. Its not theft proof but its great for hiding it in easy access spots. My only gripe is the loud CLUNK noise it makes upon opening

I have two. The model shown is bolted and cabled to the consul of my Escalade so I can quickly surrender my 2A rights before entering a California GFSZ. Unly downside of mounting it in a vehicle is finding a place it will fit and it rattles pretty bad.

And the more expensive biometric model mounted inside the coat closet by the front door.

Honestly I thought the biometric would be way faster then the press code model but found the difference to be negligible and the press code model is more consistent. Both are very fast to open and draw from.

Under a desk at work or on a nightstand would work way well.

I have two, at both my residences. I open them quit a bit when I remove one then travel then place in the other. The only thing I notice is that the foam gets torn pretty bad. Not a big deal breaker for me. I love them... Practice your code, when you mess up you have to wait for reset. Bought both from Costco, just recently I saw a pallet sitting on the floor full of these vaults.

I have one mounted to my computer desk. I planned on getting one from Costco once they go on sale.
