Could also be a decision based on wanting to end production eventually and have an upcoming replacement product yet still have inventory on hand to meet requirements for existing contracts.

Of course there's no source given(or at least mentioned) so who knows.

If this is true it's because they are not a big seller. No company quits selling a product if they are making bucks on the sales.

eh, better priced competitors out there. i'll just use Nikon scopes instead.

Leupold probably wasn't selling enough to justify maintaining the inventory for these things.

Too much $$$ so low sales numbers. agree with DC or marketing ploy, either way

I would never pay the price of that scope anyways.

This won't help them image wise.

I don't think they are "banning" it. Probably keeping production to fill contracts with leo/mil, while expanding their custom shop demand. Their custom shop is really cool and you could get any feature from a Mark 4 built on just about any platform Luepold already makes. With this in mind it makes sense they would simplify the base product lines.

They announced this to dealers a while ago.

THEY ARE NOT BANNING SCOPES FOR CIVILIANS.

One gun website that can't ****ing read is spreading those rumors.

They discontinued the Mark 4 series. They are selling off the current stock. They have been replaced by newer, better scopes.

They HAVE to keep selling certain Mark 4 models to LE/MIL because of contractual obligations. If it was up to them they would stop making them all together but they can't.

LE/MIL gets discontinued, older scopes while civilians get the newer, better scopes. This is not a big deal.

Nahh, it's much more entertaining to panic when there's nothing to indicate that it wouldn't be due to a more sensible reason.

Thanks Polish Mike - I was just about to run out the door and buy one at your Brentwood Store, which is located at 305 Town Centre Terrace Unit N in Brentwood, CA and I might add stays open until 19:00. But instead I can wait and keep saving up for that Baretta 1300 COMP.

Lol I see what you did there!

+1 for Mike running quality shops that definitely don't fit the standard LGS fud stereotype. And on that note, sounds like I need to go visit them tomorrow and burn up some cash I have lyin around.
