    Hot ammo or chamber issues?

A buddy of mine shot some .270 win super X and I took the brass for reloading. Factory ammo. Ok, the primers are not flattened but there is a serious bulge and ring in the case separation area. I mean, I couldn't even full length resize it's bulged so badly (Won't reload just curious). Ideas? I believe gun is Rem 700 with not that many rounds through it.

Hot factory ammo or do you think his chamber needs checked out.

I'd see if fella was using proper cal ammo first. Maybe 270 Wby rifle? Then cerrosafe chamber and mike it up.

It's a regular old .270 win Rem 700, I was there to help sight in after a scope bump. Thanks for the response.

Has it done it with any other brand of ammo or has he checked?

He's going to try a different brand.
