Help me out here. Need gun reading material

    I love books.

    I need a gun-book fix.

I can't think of any gun books to buy.

Any recommendations? (Read below, before recommending).

Books I've enjoyed include, in no particular order:

    Various by Col. Jeff Cooper
    Hatcher's Notebook
    Hatcher's Book of the Garand
Canfield's huge book on the Garand
Various books on the Mauser 98k, Swedish Mauser, Swiss Luger
    Dunlap's Gunsmithing book
    Dunlap's Ordnance Went Up Front
John George's Shots Fired in Anger.
    Brophy's Springfield book
Various books on the Springfield and shooting in general by Crossman

To a lesser extent because they're oddball guns that I don't envision owning (because I don't see the point) but I read the book:
    M1941 Johnson
    K43

Is it just me, or are there not very many good gun books? Cars and airplanes don't have this shortage.

Books ought to be like "drinking from the fire hose." I'm just not getting my thirst satisfied here.

      Got a bunch already.

Law's Mauer 98k ("Backbone of the Wehrmacht") set
      K43
      Swedish Mauser.

Are there others I should get?

(My tastes tend to run to older milsurps, and I built my own AR from a 10% -- not 80% -- lower).

A friend of mine got the M1 Carbine books. He just loves his Carbine.

My hesitation on the Carbine is that, from all accounts, it's not a very accurate rifle. So it's not on my must-have list.

My must-have list is getting shorter.

                Hmm...older milsurps.

As mentioned, if you're into beltfeds, or history...Devil's Paintbrush, and also The Grand Old Lady of No Man's Land. Star Firearms by Antaris is also a good read. Book of the Rifle, of course (but you probably already have that). The Browning Machine Gun series is also great, and even ones like The Fabled FAL. ......
                Yeah.

                    Unintended Consequences - John Ross
The surest way to work up a crusade in favor of some good cause is to promise people they will have a chance of maltreating someone. To be able to destroy with good conscience, to be able to behave badly and call your bad behavior 'righteous indignation' this is the height of psychological luxury, the most delicious of moral treats.

American Gun by Chris Kyle. Not the same as some of the other books you've read but a good one.
