Sale/PPT at Cow Palace Gun Show?

Is there any problem with taking a rifle to the show this weekend to sell it? Can I just have it slung over my shoulder with a "For Sale" sign as I peruse the tables? Can I expect to find FFL's willing to do the transfer and take possession of the rifle during the waiting period (this is not a C&R rifle)?

I gather that I can't have ammo for it with me, but is there anything else I should know? Do I have to secure the action with a zip tie or lock? I've been to the CP show before, but can't remember seeing individuals walking around with guns for sale.

    Thanks for your time!

You should be fine. They'll zip tie it for you. You should be able to find a transfer dealer there, but they might be busy so you better be patient.

Just make sure you transport it all legal - carry it with the action open, clip removed (if applicable) etc... when you get to the door their is an inspection spot and teh officers will lock-tie the action open for you.

Always found it funny the guys walking around like that with a "for sale" sign on a dowel sticking out of the barrel. Just wish they would put more info on the signs!

Quit asking about most all of them as the one's I asked before all thought the rifle was made of pure gold. Worse than dealers!

And remember, you can't carry around ammo that fits the gun while you're at the show - another wonderful CA law.

of course - you might find a good buyer right here on cal guns that would meet you there.

care to venture what it is and how much?
