Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up about this place. It's in Brea (if that's even a place,) about 15 minutes from Ades and I highly recommend it. It's called the OC Indoor Range and I met for an OLL transfer there on Saturday. There was literally a bus full of people in the store (some kind of organized shooting field trip, or something) and the guys behind the counter were amazingly courteous and more than happy to do a PPT transfer. This is the second time I have done an OLL transfer there and I had a great experience the first time as well. They charged $35 for the transfer this time and only $35 last time, when I bought two OLLs in the same transfer (no extra fees, per long gun.)
I have no idea what is going on with Ades. Everyone says he is a great guy and I'm sure he is, I just didn't want to take the chance of his store closing down and my stuff just disappearing. In fact, the first time I went to transfer OLLs there, the guy told me it wasn't a good idea (because of some audit) and that I should try the OC Indoor Range - and I'm glad I did! Plus, when you do a transfer at the OC Indoor Range you can get a lane and get some shooting time in too.
Oh and as of Saturday, mid-day, they had a Spikes lower in the shop for $245 - definitely not a great deal, just FYI.
ETA - BTW, this was not written to dissuade anyone from going to Ades, it is just to provide knowledge about a good alternative.
