    Now Jealous of Oregon

I couldn't believe when we went to Oregon this weekend what I saw. We went to a Fred Meyers and they had handguns right there to buy. Not only that but they
Had all the ones I've paid 50% more to
Buy in ca bc off roster. Right in front of me were ruger mark iii, sr22, berreta neos .. All the ones we can't get. Never did I realize how we get screwed over,
And not even for a valid reason. Just my rant

All the one you can't get...some of us already have what's mentioned. Speak for yourself.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

Oregon is becoming another liberal Dem state and it wont be long before they become just like CA.

I have to disagree with that second part. Oregon would have to slide a long way down before it became "just like California", and there doesn't seem to be any interest in becoming "just like California" in any way, and that includes gun control.

I was at the Bi-Mart near me yesterday and their little display case was crammed with almost a dozen of the latest Glocks. The Gen 4 G19 with three 15-round magazines was listed at $539. With the $10 instant background check and no sales tax it would be $549 out the door, and literally out the door because there is no waiting period. If you have your shall-issue Oregon concealed handgun license (CHL) like I do, you could buy the Glock, a box of ammo, and a holster, go out to your car, load up the three 15-round magazines, put one in the Glock, put the Glock in your holster, and drive away.
        Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

the younger generations being taught in the public schools will change your perception. My family that lives in oregon came down for a visit. They have lived there all their lives, and they speak the exact opposite of what you think. I won't go into details, but they have the same complaints as us, even thought their laws right now are more favorable.

As far as business and state income tax goes, they are every bit on par with Cali

Despite the nice selections, remember the cost of living in CA vs OR if fairly substantial.

In addition, last time I was in OR it was REALLY boring. I love CA.

I have teenagers going to public school in Oregon. My son wears this shirt

and my daughter wears this shirt

to their high school and the other kids give them compliments. Try that in California.

Since you won't give details I can't comment on their complaints. Yes, a lot of Oregonians are concerned about the possibility of Oregon becoming more like California (in a bad way), but that concern is a good sign. If people were cheering about it and hoping it would happen, then I would be worried.

Overall tax climate (higher ranking is better): Oregon #11, California #48

It took around 25 years for things to go from the way they were then to the way things are now in California. Not "a few years" as some here have been predicting is all it will take in Oregon.

Of course, if another mentally disturbed Californian moves up here and shoots up another community college in Oregon, things could change faster, that's true. That's why we should close the border with California.

Despite the nice selections, remember the cost of living in CA vs OR if fairly substantial.
If by that you mean the cost of living in California is much higher than in Oregon, you're right. http://blogs.marketwatch.com/capitol...-data-suggest/

Oregon has our same problem, just in the embyro stages. Most counties like here, lack fair representation. Most votes are in portland witch is becoming the new san francisco. This of course is due to liberal douchbags from here migrating to Oregon. My parents retired and left cali for south central Oregon back in the 90's and they were not recieved well. It took a long time for the locals to realize that they were good pro 2A people. Most Orgonians in the sticks hate californians. When I go up thier, I park my truck at the ranch and use one of thiers to get around so no one knows where I'm from.the cool thing is, open carry is still legit and I carry there regularly.

I went to Pennsylvania last year and walked into a few gun shops, every gun in their shelf would be considered "rare" over here and Iv never felt like more of a second class citizen... And I'm a CA FFL!!

Portland will kill off Oregon. Once they get the critical mass of ex-pat CA voters, it will be just like NY with one town running the entire state.

42% of New York state's population lives in New York City.

66% of California's population lives in the Greater Los Angeles Area and the San Francisco Bay Area.

19% of Oregon's population lives in Multnomah County, which includes Portland.

It will take a long time, if ever, for Portland to get big enough to dominate Oregon the way NYC dominates New York and LA/SF dominates California.

Saw the same thing in a Utah LGS a few months ago. I walked in and felt like a second class citizen. I felt like the employees knew I was from PRK.

Witnessed a lady walk in/out with her firearms in about 30-40 minutes.

My wife and several childhood friends went to college in Oregon. I've spent a lot of time up there. They lived in Ashland, which is liberal AF, but on the state level it's still a nice place to live. The biggest complaint I hear from the people who are from there was that Californians are moving up there in droves and trying to make their new state just like their old one (sound familiar).

I look at properties in several different states because this one is getting to be too much for me. And honestly, Oregon is on the bottom of my list of possibilities because I'm afraid that the locals up there are right. Californians have a bad habit of moving and trying to bring the ****hole that the let with them.
As the great warrior poet Ice Cube once said "If the day does not require an AK, it is good."
