Oh my god, its been a year...

since I've fired a gun. I don't really have a reason why. But it was last memorial day since I took the toys out for a work out. I feel ashamed to admit it to my calguns brothern. I did go into the safes and inspect the herd today and give'em all a nice massage with a G-96 soaked rag. I even saw some I forgot I had...I know friggin pitiful. I've slipped into fishing mode I guess, I do that sometimes. Any of you guys do this? go for long periods without going to the range?

You have one month to go shooting or you are an anti.

I'd be shooting everyday... if I was in a free state. Having to pack and drive 10 minutes to the range takes up 20% of my weekend which is hard to sacrifice with all the things I have to do at home.
      (add more excuses here)

Can't blame ya, ammo is expensive and about to get a whole lot more expensive. Also, my first instinct is to tease you that "the liberals want you to take up fishing instead", but then I remember the only thing more complicated than California gun laws is California coastal fishing laws. The laws on what number of what fish you can take during what season is so baroque and labyrinthine it makes gun laws look straightforward.

Ammo is expensive, can't shoot bimetal, 45-60 to drive + traffic on the way home, packed on the weekends

I only make it out every other month or so.

Yep I took off from shooting for 3 weeks, but I'm better now

I also enjoy fishin picked up a new Honda 20hp OB I'm a happy guy

Nothing wrong with fishin, also nothing wrong with shooting your toys either.

Now to the range, do 20 hail marries & case of ammo my son, you will be exonerated.

OH! NO! You've just opened the portal to flinching. Now you have to buy thousands of 22lr ammo and shoot.

Its not the ammo, I reload and have the shelves stacked. Part of it is that it takes me 25 minutes to get to the launch ramp and 1 hour to get to Burro. I cant stand indoor ranges.

Yeah, it's been about a year for me too. I have built two complete rifles and bought a handgun that i haven't even shot yet! I know... Pathetic.

But i have been dry firing, at home. My wife is awesome! When we lay in bed, at night, watching TV I dry fire my HK45C at the screen when the villain comes into the shot. My wife never complains about all the clicking!

I went eight years - but when I got back, I bought three dozen new guns.
