My old partner has one on his pocket carry gun. He likes it except that when you have the gun in hand with trigger finger alongside the trigger it sometimes blocks the laser. There is, apparently, another laser grip that puts the laser closer to the top strap thereby eliminating the problem.

As far as the laser he does have, he swears by it and he knows his gun. He's a former cop and shooting instructor. The CT laser has held up to being banged around in his pocket holster and he has fired the gun many times. He's pretty critical about gun gear and if he says its OK, it probably is.

Get ready for a fulside from the luddites. You do know, of course, that there were howls of protest back in the days when gun manufacturers actually put SIGHTS on a rifle!! Yeah, some folks thought it was downright "unsporting" to put sights on a rifle used in combat. AND THEN those terrible riflemen in the Revolutionary War actually picked out those prestigous British officers for killing. TSK! TSK!

At just about EVERY STEP in the development of guns there've been protests from some quarter over the implementation of some new device. Today, its the laser sights. Go figure.

I would have them they work you need to get trained and practice with them.

They are another tool sometimes the right tool sometimes they aren't. Get trained.

I have a 360 (I think that is what it is. It is the Ti .357 hammerless one) with the 405 lasergrip. I like the grip it feels good, but it does not do jack for recoil reduction (that air space in the grip back strap is what I was referring to).

Have the LG-105 on my 340PD. Like it but it will be upgraded to the LG-405 soon.

I recommend anyone who will shoot 357 Mag in a J-Frame to get at least the LG-405. Or even better the LG-305 if you can spare the room.

I have one on my 340PD and I like it. Once I got it sighted in (only about 3 rounds) it is a big help. I don't like the sights on J frames, although it really doesn't matter at close range. An interesting thing about the laser is you can check your flinch when dry fireing.

I have the 405's on my 642. I would recommend them to anyone looking.

Maybe for a young buck (or buckess!) with good sharp eyes this item does not have that much appeal. For my 65 yr. old eyes they are a godsend, 'specially in low light. YMMV

CT two thumbs up

I have three smith J frames. Two of them wear the CT 305, and I think they are great. I would like to try a CT 405, but still paying off Christmas bills.

Anyone want to swap a 305 for a 405?

My fiancee has a S&W 637 with the factory crimson trace grips. She loves it and shoots much better with the laser on.

I've got a 642 with 307s, and I think they're great. The 642's sights are marginal in the daytime, and essentially unusable in low light, especially if you're in a hurry. You can't add tritium to the 642 easily, so the CTs are the best option, IMO.

They're also good during practice for showing where you need to work on your trigger control.
