My letter to Governor Brown.

Dear Governor Brown,

California already ahs the strictest gun control laws in the United States. All of the bills recently moving through the legislature that will arrive on your desk soon will make things worse for honest citizens. These bills do nothing to solve crime and will only punish honest citizens. The ammo sales bill in particular AB 156 would create a huge bureaucracy and black market for ammo. SB 880, SB 1663 and SB 1664 would only serve to make criminals out of honest citizens as well. Look at how well the high capacity magazine ban worked in Los Angeles City. Not one was turned in.

I plead with you sir to veto these unfair and unjust bills and to spare the taxpayers undue burden. There will surely be lawsuits filed if these bills are passed. The cost of implementing these new laws would be great as well. They serve only to punish honest citizens. As we all know, criminals do not follow gun laws. Not now and not ever.

I sat next to Brown on a flight from Denver to Oakland when he was Oaktown's Mayor. Interesting guy. I challenged him on a few things but nothing I said was changing his mind. At least he listened and didn't interrupt any of my sentences. This can go either way. So, as you say, hopefully not.
