Planning on moving out of state

Any input on what state would be better to move into? I'm looking to relocate within the next two years and my wife I don't have any children (and we don't plan on having any ever). I would love to move to a gun friendly state and my options have boiled down to Arizona and Washington state. I've been doing my research on the cost of living, tax rates, weather, and geographic information. Overall Washington state has more to offer but the recent legislation is a bit of a concern.

I wish I could stay here in California to help combat new legislation but the cost of living has increased a ridiculous amount and will continue to hike.

Any input and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I like Arizona for being a gun loving state but being a desert doesn't attract me much. I'm more of a forest/mountains kind of guy. I've been looking into Idaho state as well.

Have you ever been to Northern Arizona? Flagstaff is awesome and in July it hits around 86 degrees for a high due to it being at a 7000 foot elevation. Snow in the Winter and clean air. If you haven't been there you should go see it!

The northern part of Arizona is wonderful. It doesn't get hot like Phoenix, but we do get some monsoon rains in the summer. They just passed a couple of pro-gun bills this years. Pro-gun people are welcome but libtards stay away.

Wyoming, cheap to live, beautiful scenery, good gun laws.

I'm in Boise, 6 gun ranges, 2 out to 1000 yards within 30 miles. 95-100 in summer, 30-60 in winter, 8" snow max/total melted by noon

Unfortunately I have not seen anything other than Yuma and Phoenix. I need to get out a little more. I'm still exploring my optionso but I need to stay a little close to some type of banking establishment since I work in the financial industry.

I'm definitely not a libertard, I'm planning on relocating to start a new affordable life. Too many ridiculous laws in California that me and my wife cannot stand. High taxes and high cost of living is another reason along with over population in the habitable areas.

Forget about Arizona and Nevada. There's no surfing in either state.

Texas has done an excellent job of maintaining personal liberties (except for areas surrounding Austin) and has a good economy, but even though it's a coastal state, there really isn't any good surfing. Property is reasonable, but property taxes are outrageous. Plus you would need to learn to speak their language, and to speak it so slowly that normal folks would become impatient with you. So I'd also forget about Texas.

Washington and Oregon are cool. Idaho would be cool if there was a place to surf, but there isn't.

Your concern about the "Californication" of these places is well founded, but unfortunately that trend is fairly common (especially around Austin, Texas).
If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.

I've considered Texas as well. I'm in a position where I want to pin point a location and set my goals to work towards. I think the only thing I would like to live by are some sort of body of water. Like I mentioned before, I would enjoy living near a forest and have vast options for outdoor activities other than shooting range time.

My wife and I are pretty active and wish to maintain that type of lifestyle with hiking and exercising. Our biggest goal is to purchase our own home in the near future (within 4 years). There is no doubt that the Californication of areas is almost inevitable because of people who can no longer afford the ridiculous cost of living in this dump of a state.

The utopia mentality will always be around but I wish to further myself to a place where I can have the privacy of having plenty of land without paying an arm and a leg like you would here in California. Liberty restrictions are everywhere but the minimal amount of restriction on gun ownership the better.

Lots of information in these threads

                              Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.
