    UTAH CCW info FYI

Hi everyone...I received my UTAH CCW yesterday and wanted to share what the timeline has been for those interested.

10-24-2008: I took my UTAH & FL CCW class and test in San Diego by Bill Desy. He is a great instructor and the class was really great also. He is with CCW USA Firearms Training. www.ccwusa.com or contact him through info@ccwusa.com phone: 619-919-2652. I have no other reason to give you this info except to tell you what a great job he does and that he will take care of everything for you except the fingerprinting for the FL CCW...that must be taken through your local police dept. When you leave his class, all you have to do is put the papers in the envelope and mail. Enough said!

    UTAH CCW INFO:

10-28-2008: I mailed the Utah CCW stuff. Make sure you make copies of everything and send the info registered mail/receipt requested so you know when they receive it.

    11-12-2008: Credit card charged

    01-09-2009: Received my UTAH CCW!

    FLORIDA CCW INFO:

10-29-2008: I mailed the FLORIDA CCW stuff. I had to go to my local police dept. on this same day and get fingerprinted as "wet" fingerprints are required for all out of state applicants. Cost was $20.00 and was in and out in about 5 minutes. No questions were asked about why I wanted my fingerprints taken however I would have been happy to tell them if they asked.

11-24-2008: My check was cashed on this day. Florida CCW will accept check or MO only...no credit cards.

I still have not received my FL CCW...maybe in a couple of more weeks. I had contacted both BCI's by e-mail and phone during the waiting period and was simply told that they were behind in the processing of applications and it would be 60-90 days from the time they record my payment. UTAH came through right on time. I expect that FLORIDA will be the same. The folks at both organizations were always polite and respectful but seemed strained with overwork...maybe a work overload since...Obama won the election.

Anyway, I hope this helps some of us who are still waiting. If you have any specific questions, e-mail me and I'll be happy to respond.

I sent off my Utah and Florida paperwork by certified mail and they were each delivered and signed for on January 12th.
So far, neither the credit card given to Utah and the certified check to Florida have yet ben charged/cashed.

So that is amost 3 weeks.
        Is that typical?

It took Florida a month to cash my check last November. And from the look of the original post about the same for advantage1one.

              So yes it is typical.
