    Noobs music to his ears.

Gun purchase 5/2/16. Then getting first call from LGS (5/4/16) stating CA DOJ has delayed paperwork. I sit and ponder why the delay . Today finally got call stating they have given the OK and i can p/u . Nothing fancy but within my budget for newbie and where i can train and learn from. S&W Sd9 VE. Just happy to finall to p/u. Bought all the essential for first time owner. Safe, eye & ear protection, pistol bag, etc. Might be noob question, but if im just p/u am i required to transport it in pistol bag or am i fine with just the box?

Stick it inyour trunk and you wont need a locked case...a trunk qualifies as a locked case...but if im not mistaken most pistols come with a lockable case

I would recommend changing that to "some" pistols for accuracy so no one gets blind-sided...

My latest Les Baer 1911 came in a cardboard box.

That is really tacky for a Les Baer price tag.

depending on FFL you might need to purchase a lockable case (hard or soft) or just install the cable lock before leaving

Off subject but my nighthawk came in one of their green carrying bags. No complaints but thought huh, now I know why they're so expensive. All the hours of attention to details on the cross-pattern stitching, I'd hate to be that guy doing all of that..

But anywho, congrats on your first pistol OP! I have a king can truck and carrying it in a soft case with a pad lock behind my seat. Just a regular backpack matter of fact, just make sure you have a bag that has 2 zippers so you can lock it together.
