Sellier and bellot 308 ammo underpowered?

So I was out shooting my relatively new (100 rounds) ar 10 yesterday.

When I switched over to some Sellier and bellot 147 grain ammo The gun didn't have enough power to cycle.

Failure to eject and failure to feed to be specific. Happened every time.

My ar 10s recoil system is lightened too (took the weight out of the buffer tube) I have an adjustable gas block and I opened it all the way, still didn't help.

I thought that my gas block or the hole in the barrel was the issue but I just checked those and they are perfect.

The ammo that worked before the S&B were my reloads (168 grain low power loads)

TL: DR Anyone else have trouble with S&B ammo not cycling their ar 10s?

S&B made some fantastic 9mm and 32acp some 20 years go. As for current 762X51mm.....For that caliber in surplus is strictly limited to a NATO head stamp or a known manufacturer such a Lapua or ammo made Germany.

Surplus 762x51 in the light tan battle packs are usually from South Africa. That ammo will reliably cycle the rifle pictured. And the ammo in the 200 round green ammo packs are as good as gold thru a gas gun.

I never had any problems with S&B ammo.

cdtx2001, Yes, that ZQI is good ammo even though it comes in a cheap and pretty cheesy looking packaging.

Had the same problem with PPU, switched to ZQI, runs like a top.
