    Well, here we go...

Flying to Texas for the 3Gun Nation Southwest Regional Friday morning, and instead of being in Colorado and driving down I was held up and so now I have to fly from Oakland. Anyone flown out of Oakland with guns recently? Flying Southwest which tends to be OK to deal with but have not flown with guns to or from CA since before 9/11/2001.

I prefer to ship guns to where I'm going due to horror stories I've heard. But I have never had a negative experience with South West.. United on the other hand, **** them.
You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

Call a gun store near where you will be arrange to ship to them.

You might have to ship from a gun store to a gun store.

      It is a crazy world.

I would accept for you but in Northern Oklahoma for the next 3 months for work.

I normally do just this. I try to NEVER fly with guns, ever. I always have shipped them to myself. In this case I just do not have the time to ship them if I want to get some practice in, so I am stuck flying with them.

I very specifically avoided flying with United or American, both of which can suck it. Seems like most 3-gunners tend to fly with Southwest because of the bags fly free deal and they just seem easier to deal with.

I appreciate the offer just no real time to ship.

Whelp, checked my guns in without any issues. Went surprisingly smooth actually. I rolled up to the counter, the counter lady took one look at my Boyt case and asked if it was a firearm. I said yes, she gave me the card to fill out and weighed the case, had me open it so she could put the declaration in it and that was it. I locked the case., wheeled it over to oversized baggage, and that was that.

Surprisingly efficient, but then I got there at a low demand time with virtually no line.

Now all Southwest has do do is not lose my guns...

Thanks man! I hope to do decently well but the level of competition is high. Should be a great match. Decided to take the new match AR I just built with the Cmore x10 1x10 on it, the Versa Max, my 2011 and an XDM 4.25 as a backup pistol. I normally shoot a G17 or M&P, but the M&P sights are off and the glocks trigger needs work. Been running those two guns hard for almost three years, so not surprised they need s little freshening. Really hope the 2011 holds up, the can be a little finicky the first 1000 or so rounds.
