    Sportsmans guide questions?

When I was much more heavily into shooting I would buy ammo by the cases from Sportsman's Guide and have them shipped here to CA. The last time I looked into one of their catalogs damn near nothing was available to be shipped here any longer. If it had pretty much anything to do with firearms then it was restricted. Even if it was legal to won here in CA.

Is this still the case? Or is it even worse now where they wont even ship ammo to The Republic of Kaliforniastan?

I haven't found them competitive since the mid-2000's.

Unless you are willing to invest your time to save a penny or three per round, just buy from Sam Gabbert.

        Thanks

Does anyone know a good place locally to buy ammo in LA County? I know about Ammo Brothers. But I'm not really sure where else to buy large quantities of ammo anymore.

There is a gun show coming up this weekend in Ontario. I can always go there and pick up 1k each of 45 and 9mm. But I would like to know where a good place to go between gun shows will be.

Are there any other online stores that are competitive when you take into account shipping costs?

            Check Ammoseek.com.
            I use them exclusively.
LAX Ammo is good and has great prices.
I try to find the best combination of price/tax/shipping.
I have bought a lot of ammo from Sportsmans Guide, but they have been higher than others lately.

Check Walmart in your area. It's best to call first if they carry ammo.

+1 on ammoseek. However it pays to shop around. When SG has specials they are very competitive.

Another vote for ammoseek and LAX ammo. But then again I don't live in a largely populated area so it's cheaper to pay shipping (if you shop around) than what I would pay in fuel to go but it.

The counter monkeys at Ammo Bros are likely to tell you a lie about ATF now requiring that you buy one of their cheapy chinese locks to lock up any ammo they sell. Even if you already have a safe to secure it in.

Im not sure about shipping restrictions but IF you live in a place where it is restricted, you can always get a personal mailbox with UPS outside of the infected zone.

IF the dealer wont do business with a credit card whose billing address is within an infected zone, get a new credit card (with the UPS mailbox as the billing address) JUST for this kinda stuff.

Yup. I've purchased ammo and a bcg from them not too long ago.

                              Quick history...

In the distant past, Sportsman's Guide did not have any FUD based shipping restrictions to CA.

In recent past, Sportsman's Guide adopted a FUD based shipping restriction policy similar to what Cheaper Than Dirt had implemented.

Most recently, Sportsman's Guide finally realized how much revenue they lost by adopting the FUD based shipping restrictions to CA and removed those shipping restrictions in order to regain CA market revenue.
