I do like that one, but that darn DOJ roster is blocking me from it.

I generally buy Glocks only. Reliable, durable, easy to maintain, comes in all calibers. I also get Blue Label prices.

Sorry Sir, I didn't think to look at the roster.

Buds has had the Park Mil-Spec for around 600.00 all this year. I paid 586.00 for the one I bought in March this year. The Loaded model has been around 750.00 give or take but that's ones a little harder to find.

FWIW, Rifle Gear has a them in stock right now ....a little pricy tho

if youre shopping around $1k, a Springfield is the way to go. too bad S&W are no longer on roster, OR, get a Rock island, and lots of ammo, and run it like you hate it

Golfish, no worries. I should have bought one before the SSE was banned. I have to decide if I want to get the Milspec and have it machined for a dovetailed front sight or just spend the extra $ up front and go with the loaded. If i can find one at a decent price. I wont have the cash until the end of june anyway.

And bigpimping...I do own a glock, but I shoot the 1911 so much better!

If you are willing to spend that much coin I would be looking for a used Series 70 Colt that you could build on over time as funds allow.

I love all three of mine, but order of preference is Colt, Kimber and then SA.
                    (3) Wilson's and (3) Ed Brown"s (neck and neck) depending what you are looking for in options. (4) Colts - great firearms. Kimber next - do not own, but have fired several and they are good! SA you could not pay me to own one - very long story - but the ones I have seen in were BAD!

Kimber custom II is making its way to the top of the list. Any Kimber owners feel free to chime in, from what I've been reading most complaints or negative reviews are during the "break in" where frustrated people start trashing Kimber quality and sell/trade off their pistol. Sound about right?

Maybe this will help you decide.. Its 596.00 right now. They offer a good layaway plan if that helps. The Mil-Spec is a darn good gun to build up the way you want.

Got a Kimber, no issues in 15 years and 20k rounds.

Wait for the Loaded. Once you b start figuring all the upgrades just to get a Mill Spec to Loaded condition you're way past the cost of just buying a Loaded.

I'd rather be shooting my gun than waiting for it to come.back from the customizer.

I agree, the loaded is a deal if you want those upgrade.

The loaded has zero upgrades that I want, that's why I have two Mil Specs, one to shoot and one to upgrade the way I want it.

You Sir are in the minority.

Most people who shoot their guns (and I'm not insinuating that you don't) want the BTGS and accompanying bobbed hammer, good sights (I go for adjustable sights, others have different wants), and front cooking serrations (I'm not a big fan of these, again tastes differ).

Just the BTGS, spur hammer and refinishing put the Mil-Spec above the Loaded price and you're still stuck with the crappy Mil-Spec sights to replace.
