And only in your checked baggage.

        In checked bags, yes.

        In carry-on - NO.

The TSA Travel Tips page provides essential guidance for air travelers, covering topics such as packing smart, understanding security screening procedures, and preparing for travel with special items like medications or firearms.

The TSA "What Can I Bring?" page provides a comprehensive list of items that travelers can and cannot bring in carry-on and checked baggage. It includes guidelines on common items such as liquids, electronics, sporting equipment, and medical devices. The page also offers special instructions for certain items, like firearms and hazardous materials, ensuring passengers comply with TSA regulations.

non checked baggage even gun parts are not allowed... very broad language so they could zap you for it on non checked.

No gun parts on the plane in carry-on. That includes springs, bolts, selectors, etc.

I forgot to take a loaded 1911 mag out of my carry on at Sac airport. Security caught it.

They must've been used to it, because they were very relaxed. They gave me the option of doing a bunch of paperwork so I could claim it later, or just letting the Sheriff's Deputy "dispose" of it.
It was only a cheap 1911 mag so I let him take it.

My wife gave me grief for months.

I just had to toss a loaded standard capacity G19 mag that I forgot was in my backpack. I am moving to Texas so it was not a great loss.

Did I mention that I am moving to Texas???

lol I bet you could have garand clips and they wouldnt even know what they were. Can you imagine that sassy black TSA woman saying "Is that an 8 round enbloc clip you have there in your carry on bag?"

When (year)? Where (airport)? What was the outcome?

I wouldn't even carry a picture of magazine anywhere near an airport. What, do you still think you live in Free-America?
