$15,000 for "rifle insurance" on an AR-15?

For the rookies about to cash their first NFL paychecks, Matt Bowen has a word of advice: Don't invest in a pet tiger.

#14: "An agent told me he once wired $15,000 to pay for insurance on an AR-15 rifle for one his clients. Yes, $15K!"

This obviously got my attention. I'm going to assume that the author doesn't know guns and just used AR-15 as a generic "black rifle" reference. And that "rifle insurance" could just be a homeowners' policy which covers firearms. But for the life of me, I can't think of a regular, common combat rifle that would need its own insurance coverage. Mental math makes me think that the actual value of a single gun would need to be well into 6 figures to require that kind of a premium. Maybe it's for an entire collection. Or something notoriously collectible. Curious to know what the CGN crowd would speculate on what might have needed insurance like that.

    For now.

When the Hildabeast comes to power and appoints her supreme Court nominees, gun insurance will become mandatory. The scarier the gun, the higher the premiums. They'll keep using the old line "well, we have insurance on cars, gun insurance just makes common sense."

A full auto would be worth more than $15,000 but if that is how much his agent told him the insurance premium was then his agent probably kept about $14,800

Yes, and "everybody that drives" in this state has insurance.
Maybe illegals will get a pass on this one as well.
