#14: "An agent told me he once wired $15,000 to pay for insurance on an AR-15 rifle for one his clients. Yes, $15K!"
This obviously got my attention. I'm going to assume that the author doesn't know guns and just used AR-15 as a generic "black rifle" reference. And that "rifle insurance" could just be a homeowners' policy which covers firearms. But for the life of me, I can't think of a regular, common combat rifle that would need its own insurance coverage. Mental math makes me think that the actual value of a single gun would need to be well into 6 figures to require that kind of a premium. Maybe it's for an entire collection. Or something notoriously collectible. Curious to know what the CGN crowd would speculate on what might have needed insurance like that.
