My FFL will do transfer and DROS for $50. They've also been known to lose the receipt for the item being transferred so no sales tax either
            **** your feelings!

Down here in LA the cheapest I can find is $70 (Transfer+Dros) + Sales tax.

Until they get audited, have to pay back tax and then raise prices or close up shop. But, at least YOU didn't have to pay the tax.

                        ^^^
Anything more than $75 is highway robbery regsrdless of the area. I'd spend time and money on gas to drive 100 miles but will not deal with someone who wants to charge $100 for receiving a gun. That is just immoral if not illegal as rape.
It takes all of 5 minutes to open a box and enter a new gun serial number being received for a customer.
No one who is informed or knows better will pay those kind of exorbitat fees. Call around to your local gun shops and if they are not helpful check with pawnshops. Many pawnshops will receive your gun for under $50.
