Wondering if I'm allowed to leave negative feedback for this

So I saw a guy selling a Puma M92 in .44 mag in the classifieds section and I told him I would take it. We agreed on a location, a day, and a time(today at 3 at guns direct). I texted him this morning just to confirm for today, and he said "sorry the rifle is a gonner". I was confused and I said I thought we locked everything up for today and he said yes but a guy offered to drive to him(which I would've done if he asked me, it wasn't an issue) so he sold it to him instead. So is this grounds for me leaving negative feedback? I feel like he went and sold the rifle out from me even though everything was locked in, and now I'm out a rifle.

Per the "rules" you are not out financially so this would not justify a negative, but rather a neutral.

However if this happened to me I would be pissed and would also want to leave a negative. You basically had a handshake deal that the "gentleman" decided not to uphold.

If you took time off from work and waited for him at gun store.... negative for sure..

I had like 3 people give me the golden handshake last week and then stand me up at the LGS.. finally midvalleyshooter actually met me there and we did a deal. People suck sometimes.

Sorry to hear this OP. I'd be pissed too. Obviously most of us understand what it means to have a deal as well as what it means to be an honorable gentleman. Unfortunately there are still a few here that are total POS. I know the rules but IMO this is worthy of neg feedback.

Neutral, however add comments and make sure people know. I had someone double the price on me once he "check his invoice and saw how much he paid" I still purchased but left a Neutral with details.

It happens all the time. It happened to me a few times. Most of the time they are offered more for the item/firearm. That seems to be OK here. There's really nothing you can do. Don't think of it too much. As they say " Forged aboud id!"

its not OK. if you have a deal with a person and then accept a higher-offer, that is against the rules. can we usually prove it, no. but if we can, it can be a marketplace-bannable offense.

basically, just leave neutral and move on.

I have always had positive transactions, but I would be upset about this situation.

Every time I have a SPF, I invariably receive PMs from a couple people offering me more money for the item (usually from a junior member with virtually no posts and almost always zero ratings). I always politely decline explaining my word is my word and they would appreciate being treated in the same, polite and fair manner.

I'm a firm believer in karma. The seller will ultimately have the same thing handed to him one day and it will make him think back on the time he did it to you. Hopefully he won't do it again.

I would definitely leave neutral feedback with a description.

Do you mind saying how long ago you made the agreement to meet today? Reason I ask is I have had people say they will buy it, and then tell me they can't meet for a few days. Then on the day we are suppose to meet, ask me to wait longer or just say they changed their minds and no longer want to buy it. And while I am waiting, other people are asking to buy it and willing to meet the same or next day. Personally, I let the buyers know if I don't feel like waiting,(and I usually don't due to the amount of people who have wasted my time) but then I am taking the chance of losing that buyer without knowing if another buyer will come along. He probably agreed to wait but then went with the buyer who could meet him first. But even if that is the case, he should have told you he would sell it if someone agreed to meet sooner.

Yea we agreed Wednesday to do it today because I was going to be at stagecoach ( I don't listen to country at all so this purchase wouldve been my light at the end of the road, my reward for putting up with three days of heat and country music) but it was definitive about me purchasing the rifle. All the details were set, yet he went ahead and sold it on the 29th (friday) and didn't even bother to tell me

You can't leave negative feedback, no monetary exchange. Seller is free to sell whoever he/she want to sell. It's free market after all
