I have heard more than one anti-gunner moan about "eliminating all the guns on the planet" but how are you going to take away the knowledge out of peoples heads. it's relatively easy, just a few ingredients and your set.

And in this particular case they were making a gun that even if they run out of ammunition it can still be a devastating weapon.
