How does the costa mesa show compare to the old Pomona show? have not been to gun show since L.A close the show.

Not even close....The Great Western Show at the L.A. county fairgrounds was the biggest and best show in the west.

Costa Mesa show is just a fraction of the size, and does not have the same kind of deals that the shows of the past had.

You can blame California politicians and voters for enacting gun laws and restrictions for that.

Just got back from this show. 5 bucks for parking and 10 for admission. Prices were not bad: g19 and 17 were available at around 549. Saw a glock 43 for 1200. I'm not into paying that for the off roster stuff, but a free market is a free market.

I was looking for black powder stuff and got a cool Hawken rifle for 150. I also picked up a few parts I wanted.

.22 was everywhere at about 10/15 bucks over retail per 325 and 550 boxes.

Ammo was plentiful in all calibers.

Saw a few friends and enjoyed myself just bullshirting with them. Those who don't like these small shows will probably scream when they're all gone and wonder what happened.

Support your local gun show.

I agree...local shows CAN be fun and have great deals if you know what to look for, do your price research beforehand, and have some patience...

I went on Saturday.., just finished parking my car, when out of nowhere 3 unmarked vehicles stop a guy that just came out of the show with his 2 kids,
frisked him and then cuffed him.....DOJ.
Don't know the particulars but I can just guess..

Walking to the entry gate there were 3 big signs that said "Metal detectors in use " My first time seeing something like that at a show, and I go to many...

Big crowd, lots of C&R , Scopes, etc. Overall a decent show. For me it's a 1 hr.
drive, but we really need to support our local shows.

The metal detectors are for entry to other fairground events and not the gun show.
